Hi, I’m Tammy

I’m a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) with the Yoga Alliance, a certified trauma-informed yoga teacher, and a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). I started practicing yoga in 2012 (self-taught) during graduate school as a method of stress relief, which quickly grew into a passion.

As a Black woman, I navigate daily challenges that often come with high levels of stress, pressure, and societal expectations. The weight of these experiences can feel overwhelming at times, but yoga has been one of my sources of restoration and resilience. It allows me to connect with my body in a deep and spiritual way, and it provides an outlet to channel my love for movement and artistic expression. As a yoga teacher, I use yoga to help others strengthen their mind-body connection, improve mental health, and enhance overall wellness.

Noticing a lack of Black representation in yoga studios and not always feeling a sense of belonging in those spaces, I am dedicated to creating inclusive environments where Black and other communities of color can engage in yoga.
